Now in its 11th year, the Bioscience Day pitch competition has served as a platform and showcase for University of Maryland innovation and inventions ready for commercialization.  University inventors present to a team of advisors, investors and entrepreneurs from the region. Judging is based on the potential commercial viability and business opportunity presented. Come see the inventors pitch their inventions to industry experts and learn from the judges' feedback.



“Navigating the Invention-to-Market Life Cycle" Fireside Chat with Taylor Myers of MF Fire and Presentation of Award for Best Pitch of the Inventor Pitch Competition

Taylor Myers (B.S. '12, M.S. '13, fire protection engineering; B.S. '12, astronomy), chief technology officer of MF Fire, will discuss “Navigating the invention-to-market life cycle" in a fireside chat with Julie Lenzer. MF Fire is a fire technology company leveraging advanced combustion science to engineer superior fire products. Currently a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering, Myers was named a 2014 Maryland Innovator of the Year.

The fireside chat will be followed by the announcement and presentation of the award for best pitch of the Inventor Pitch Competition. 

Innovation Corner is hosted by the University of Maryland Office of Technology Commercialization and UM Ventures with support from the university's College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences; Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship; Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship; and the A. James Clark School of Engineering's Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (MTECH).
